The children have already started to settle well into their new year 2 classrooms. The first day back was extremely exciting as the children had their first look at the new key stage one hall and classrooms. We are extremely lucky to have brand new learning environments to work in.
We have got stuck in straight away and the children really enjoyed their first maths lessons of the year. They worked in pairs to roll dice to make 2 digit numbers and marked them off on a hundred square. The next day the children worked together to fill in a hundred square in the same way.
Lego is the theme in our classroom and each table has a tub of coloured Lego pieces to build their own tower throughout the week. The children have been trying their best to become the "master builder" for their table which earns them the right to add blocks to their tower when awarded a block by a teacher. The children designed their own Lego person.
